Saleel Kulkarni (Marathi pronunciation: [saliːl kulkəɾɳiː]; 6 October 1972) is a Marathi music composer, singer and author.
Early life
Saleel Kulkarni sang the Marathi Prose 'Jayostute ' on All India Radio, Pune station at the age of three. Thereafter, he undertook key lessons in singing and music from eminent personalities like Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare, Jaymalabai Shiledar and Pramod Marathe. Formal education wise, Kulkarni is a medicine graduate and was working as a doctor in the early part of his life. While working as a music director for the last ten years, he has composed songs for Hindi and Marathi albums, serials and films.

Saleel Kulkarni teamed up with Sandip Khare for the show 'Ayushyawar Bolu Kahi' (आयुष्यावर बोलू काही). Kulkarni was also a part of Marathi SaReGaMaPa as judge and mentor. Ruturang, a cultural NGO, in association with Marathe Infotech had organized Gani Manatli Gani Hridayatli, a Salil-Sandeep live show at Gadkari Rangayatan. "Our aim is to offer unique musical experience to our audience and we are happy to get such wonderful response from the audience", explained Vinay Marathe, director Marathe infotech and winner of this year's Udyog-shree award.
"In this show we are going to present many new songs", declared salil. The show opened with their popular song Ayushyawar bolu kahi' in which words of the lyrics were simple but the originality in thoughts and tunes touched every heart. It was followed with series of favorite songs and poems such as Aggobai Dhaggobai, Superman, Sariwar sar, He gandhit ware phiranare, and Pausrao.
On this platform Salil-Sandeep released Damlelya Babachi Kahani', their new CD in the presence of their fans. Bandh manache julale re was composed in Raga Yaman. Use of group violins created lucid mood. "This Raga has a vast canvas and I have seen so many attractive shades in the notes of this raga that I dedicate this song to the raga", said Salil. His wife Anjali Kulkarni charmed the audience with Dehi Vanava pisatala, a song in Raga Puriya Dhanashree.
Jab tula re kuni pusava was a Kawwali in which different vocal textures were used brilliantly. The participant singers of this powerful Kawwali were Salil Kulkarni, Mithilesh patankar, Aditya Athalye, Meghana Sardar, Rutika Rewankar and Ajit Vispute. They enlightened the words of the song and use of chorus provided depth
