A boarding school in Ooty, a girl gang of three friends, one of them falls in love with a handsome classmate. With these clues, you’ve probably already guessed the film: Roshan Andrew's 'Notebook,' featuring Skanda, Parvathy, Roma, and Maria. Nearly two decades later, this movie continues to hold a special place in the hearts of viewers, even in the Instagram era. To evoke some nostalgia, ETimes spoke with Skanda Ashok, who portrayed Sooraj Menon in the film. Now a busy Kannada actor, he shared his cherished memories of landing the role, the fun of shooting, and more.

Later, I flew to Kochi to meet Roshan, Bobby, Sanjay, and their wives. They even predicted that a guy from Bengaluru would charm the ladies in Kerala. That was my gateway to 'Notebook,'" he shared.
Although it was his debut film, Skanda was fortunate to play a character with depth. He described the experience as a learning journey, saying the movie felt like a school for him.
"Notebook’ and Sooraj Menon taught me a great deal. While the film helped me grow as an actor, the character imparted many valuable life lessons. Even though Roshan and the writers advised me to take it easy in my preparations, I was committed to giving my best.
