Kylle thomasson biography for kids
‘Still in shock’
STOCKTON — The first $20 Juan Morga earned after buying his southeast Stockton towing business seven years ago is framed and mounted on a wall.
He was living the American Dream, a kid from Guadalajara who had come to the United States as a teen and was living his middle-aged years as a hardworking business owner adored by his wife and four children.
“If he could help you he would always help you,” Esmeralda Morga said of her late husband Friday afternoon. “He wouldn’t mind. He was an amazing man, strict with his kids, but I think the strictness showed them how to be strong, and is teaching us to continue to do what he wanted us to do.”
Juan Morga, the 48-year-old owner of Bob’s Towing off Mariposa Road, died early Christmas morning.
He was killed on the job when a GMC crashed into Morga as he loaded a vehicle onto his tow truck. Stockton musician Kylle Thomasson, 25, the driver of that vehicle, is suspected of driving under the influence. He has been in the San Joaquin County Jail since Tuesday’s crash with bail set at $1 million.
On Friday, Morga’s children wanted, most of all, to speak about their father.
By birth, 24-year-old Luis Paez was Juan Morga’s stepson. But Paez said Morga never made him feel like anything other than his own flesh and blood.
“He claimed me as his son,” Paez recalled. “He made sure I went to school. He was always checking my grades. He would tell me, ‘I’ll give you 30 minutes to study. Then, I’ll test you.’ ”
Paez said in the aftermath of Morga’s death, he has quit his job at a warehouse and is going to work at his late father’s business.
Jorge Morga, Juan’s 17-year-old son, is a senior at Franklin High School who has an interest in politics and said he has participated in a number of youth-related activities organized by Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs. Reflecting on his father, Jorge Morga said, “He started from nothing and he found a way to build himself up. When he saw that we were struggling, he’d do everyth People v Kylle Thomasson. Yesterday, Thomasson, 25, was arraigned on charges arising from a Christmas Day collision that killed a tow truck driver. Thomasson has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated (Penal Code section PC 191.5 (a)) and driving under the influence causing great bodily injury (Vehicle Code sections 23152, and Penal Code section 12022.7a.) Reporting by the Record that Thomasson was also charged with having a “blood alcohol content of .20 percent and higher,” is incorrect. At approximately 2:00 am on Christmas Day, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a collision on I-5 (north of Matthews Road) involving Thomasson and a “Bob’s Tow” flatbed truck that was on the shoulder preparing to tow a vehicle from an unrelated collision. The operator of the tow truck, Juan Morga, 48, who was on the side of the flatbed operating the towing functions was struck and killed. No other injuries were reported. During the investigation by the CHP, Thomasson showed objective signs of intoxication. He later refused to submit to a test to determine his blood alcohol content, as required by law. (Vehicle Code section 23577 (a)). A search warrant was obtained and a forcible blood draw was taken. The blood alcohol tests result will take some time to be completed. Thomasson will return back to court on Friday, January 11th, 2019 for further arraignment. His bail was set at $1 million dollars. This case is being prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Homicide/Vehicular Homicide Unit. American basketball player (born 1990) For the tennis player, see Clay Thompson. Wesley’s early years were outlined in last week’s column. The tragedy of his mother dying at age 31 when he was only 8 years old was also described. He was the second oldest of the seven young children left at their mother’s death. Wesley was born in 1905 either in the Burnout or the Antioch community. Wesley’s family moved around to different farms for several years before settling in the Cedar Grove Church of Christ community a few miles southwest of Andalusia. His dad had made crops in Antioch, Heath and south of the Carolina community where he taught his five sons how to work and manage a farm. Wesley and his siblings attended the nearby Adellum School where he completed the seventh grade. The children also began to attend the nearby Cedar Grove Church of Christ with neighboring friends. Wesley became friends with one of the young ladies, Ruby Evelyn Stokes, daughter of Leland Congdon “Lee” Stokes and Callie Alabama “Bama” Fuqua, and they were married on October 1, 1925. Ruby was born in 1910, and she attended Adellum School where she completed the eighth grade. The couple began their marriage in a small house on her father’s property, and even as a young bride at 15 years of age, she knew how to manage a home. As a respectable daughter, she continued to assist her mother, and they did nearly everything together such as sewing, quilting, canning, etc., the many activities typical of a farm home. She made beautiful quilts, embroidered scarves, crocheted doilies, tatted lace and kept her simple home attractive and in neat order. Wesley farmed some and later went to work as a truck driver for Sessoms Grocery Company where he worked for 17 plus years. During that period of time the family resided at 6
