    Sasural Simar Ka is the journey of a young small-town middle-class girl,Simar. She is raised under the influence of her strict father who wants her to concentrate on her studies and score highest marks in class. But she nurtures a desire to be a good dancer. Thus,the story narrates the life of Simar and her dilemma.

    While on one hand,she has to live up to her father’s expectations,on the other,she wants to pursue her dream. Simar has the strong support of her younger sister,Roli,played by Avika Gor.

    The child artiste,who shot to fame as the young Anandi in Balika Vadhu, looks all grown up and pretty. She sports long hair,colourful clothes and funky accessories a la Priyanka Chopra in her Sagittarian avatar in Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s Your Rashee? The similarity doesn’t end there. Just like Priyanka rants Krishna Krishna at various instances in the film,likewise in the serial,Roli greets people saying Radhe Radhe,with folded hands.

    Avid fans of Anandi,who are hoping to watch their favourite child bride and her innocence,may get a little disappointed as here Avika is not innocent and quiet anymore. She plays a naughty and arrogant teenager. She talks with a desi panache,fights and bullies her little brother and back-bites her father. This muphat avatar of hers might be a little indigestible for her fans.

    Simar,played by Deepika Samson,on the other hand,is very calm,studious and a daddy’s girl. She is always dressed in salwar kameez and wears minimal make-up. May be it is Avika’s character or may be the makers of the show want to sell this TV series in her name as she’s the one who stands out with her loud character and bright colourful clothes!

    Veteran actress Himani Shivpuri,who plays the Bua,is also impressive. Her light-hearted repartee with the rest of the cast is thoroughly entertaining. Especially the scenes where she gets trapped between

    In the latest episode of Sasural Simar Ka, Premtells Samir that his mom is a drug dealer, a fact his father knew, and that is the reason why she killed him. Samir is in shock. Bhairavi tries to justify herself but Samir asks the inspector to take her away. In order to save herself, Bhairavi grabs Maataji and puts a knife around her neck. She manages to escape while Samir broods over things.
    He goes to his room and blames himself for not being able to take care of his dad. He also feels guilty for trying to ruin the Bharadwaj family. He begins to break things but then Simar comes in. She assures him they are all with him.

    She also asks Sanjana to come inside, and leaves the two of them. Samir apologises to her. He seeks forgiveness for all the wrong he has done. Sanjana smiles and tends to his wounds. Samir hugs her.
    During the aarti, Simar prays for Samir and Sanjana's new start and plans a surprise for them. She suddenly feels there is someone at the door. Prem goes to find out but can see no one.

    Sasural Simar Ka (transl. Simar's In-Laws) is an Indian Hindi-language television soap opera produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms that aired from 25 April 2011 to 2 March 2018 on Colors TV. It is the second longest-running Indian television series on Colors TV, after Balika Vadhu.

    Plot

    Roli and Simar are two sisters in Vrindavan, and Siddhant and Prem are two brothers in Delhi. Simar aspires to be a dancer. Her marriage is fixed with a wealthy businessman, Prem Bharadwaj. On the wedding day, Simar participates in a dance competition, and Roli is forced to marry Prem. Prem tells the whole family the truth that he is married to Roli. Mata ji then decides that Prem will remarry Roli in front of Simar. This creates problems as Simar and Prem start loving each other. Prem's brother, Siddhant, marries Roli. Eventually, the Bhardwaj family finally accepts Simar and Roli as their daughters-in-law. Mata ji then worries that Simar and Roli will rule the house instead of her, so Mata ji decides that she will do something to stop them from doing the housework. Mata ji puts a wrong medicine in Sujata's drink so she can accuse Simar and Roli of being so careless and stop them doing the housework.

    Khushi, who wants revenge for her sister's death, marries Siddhant and Prem's cousin, Sankalp. Roli tries to expose the truth about Khushi but fails every time. Simar tells Roli to leave the house because everyone in the family believes that Roli is lying. Simar finds out that Khushi sold all her jewellery and replaced them with fake gold jewellery. Khushi tells her boyfriend Veeru to unlock the lock and steal the fake gold jewellery. Simar sees this and tries to snatch the bag from Veeru but falls down the stairs.     It’s celebration time. Colors’ popular family drama Sasural Simar Ka hits the millennium mark tonight at 7.30pm, as Simar and Prem’s love saga takes a new turn.
    As the two estranged lovers cross paths in Hong Kong, it remains to be seen whether destiny will bring them together once again. Sasural Simar Kahas kept audiences glued with the story of the two sisters Simar and Roli who have advanced through life with determination, perseverance and panache.As the 1000-episode celebrations commence, we spoke to the show’s leading ladies — Deepika Samson aka Simar and Avika Goras Roli :
    How has your journey been?
    Deepika:Being my first leadd show on television, I was quite apprehensive at first as to how I would be received by the audiences. But the kind of love I received from them strengthened me and helped me grow as an actor. I am indebted to my viewers for making my debut role and show such a massive success. This show will always hold a special place in my heart because it made me who I am today. And after years of working together, I am really happy to be celebrating this milestone with the team
    Avika:Enriching! Working with this team has been a massive learning opportunity for me. I’ve had an amazing experience working with some brilliant actors and managed to absorb various nuances of acting from each and every one of them.
    What are some of your favourite memories?
    Deepika:For one of the episodes we went to shoot at Vaishnodevi. We felt blessed to be shooting in a location so filled with divine energy. It’s moments like these that I truly cherish.
    Avika:How many times have you heard of actors being able to experiment with their looks in a show? Here, I got to experiment with almost 10-12 new looks and each, vastly different from the other.
