Alexander Klaws (born 3 September 1983) is a German singer, songwriter, actor, and television host. He rose to fame in 2003 after winning the debut season of the television series Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German Idol series adaptation. His debut single "Take Me Tonight" topped the German and Swiss Singles Charts and became the third-best-selling single of 2003 in Germany. Klaws's debut studio album, Take Your Chance (2003), also debuted at number one on German Albums Chart. He followed it with his second number-one album Here I Am (2004) and has since released four further albums, including his latest effort Auf die Bühne, fertig, los! (2015). Several songs from these albums became hit singles on the pop charts, including the number-one hit "Free Like the Wind" as well as the top ten entries "Behind the Sun", "Sunshine After the Rain", and "Stay with Me".
Klaws ventured into acting in the mid-2000s, making his stage debut.
Immediately after his study at the "Joop van den Ende Academie" debut at the BerlinTheater des Westens in 2006, playing the role of Alfred in the musical remake of the horror-comedy film Dance of the Vampires. He has since led several productions, having appeared as Tarzan in Tarzan, Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Tony in Saturday Night Fever, and Sam in Ghost the Musical. In 2008, he originated the role of Lars Hauschke in the Sat.1 telenovela Anna und die Liebe. In 2013, Klaws hosted the music programme Goldschlager – Die Hits der Stars on Sat.1 Gold; the following year, he won the seventh season of the dance contest Let's Dance.
Early life

The show celebrated a special called Let's Dance – Let's Christmas with 5 celebrities from the past seasons on December 20, 2013, and on December 21, 2013. It was hosted by Daniel Hartwich & Sylvie Meis and the judging panel consisted of Jorge González, Motsi Mabuse and Joachim Llambi. With the prize money of 10,000 euros, Magdalena Brzeska, as the winner of the show, supported blind children in Togo in her function as project sponsor of RTL – Wir helfen Kindern.

On December 23, 2022, the special Let's Dance – Die große Weihnachtsshow (The big Christmas show) was broadcast. The jury consisted of Jorge González, Motsi Mabuse and Joachim Llambi. Up to 60 points per couple were awarded. Hosts were Victoria Swarovski and Daniel Hartwich. Participants were the winners of 2020 Lili Paul-Roncalli & Massimo Sinató, the winner of 2021 Rúrik Gíslason, who danced with Malika Dzumaev this time instead of Renata Lusin, the winners of 2022 René Casselly & Kathrin Menzinger, the runners-up of 2022 Janin Ullmann & Zsolt Sándor Cseke, and the third-place couple of 2022 Mathias Mester & Renata Lusin. All five couples presented two dances each. Although the show was taped on June 4, 2022, TV viewers were still able to vote live for their favorites as all five possible winning scenarios were pre-taped. The winners were Rúrik & Malika, who donated the prize money of 10,000 euros to the SOS Children's Villages in Africa.

On December 22, 2023, there was another Christmas show. The judges Season of television series The seventh season of Let's Dance began on 28 March 2014. Sylvie Meis and Daniel Hartwich returned as hosts. Motsi Mabuse, Joachim Llambi and Jorge Gonzalez returned as judges. For the first time, all judges return to the judging panel in the same constellation. Alexander Klaws won the first edition of "Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar" ("DSDS"), the German version of "Pop Idol" / "American Idol" on RTL and released its debut album "Take Your Chance" in 2003 under his first name only. The debut album span several chart hits, produced by Dieter Bohlen (of "Modern Talking" fame), who was also one of the judges on DSDS. In 2004 his sophomore album "Here I Am" followed, also produced by Dieter Bohlen and once again resulting in several chart hits, before Alexander decided to end the working relationship with Dieter Bohlen. Instead of the Bohlen-typical mainstream pop is his third album relased in 2006 under the title "Attention!" featured some rock influences. While doing OK business it was a often seen as a disappointment after the chart success of his two prior releases. He then turned to the world of stage musicals and stared in the Berlin production of "Tanz der Vampire" ("Dance of the Vampires", featuring music by Jim Steinmann). When the show closed in early 2008 he released his fourth album with a new set of producers and for the first time featuring songs in German.Let's Dance (German TV series) season 7
