D.O.(디오) is a South Korean singer, lyricist and actor under Company Soosoo. He is a member of the boy group EXOand their subgroup EXO-K.

He made his solo debut on July 26, 2021 with his first mini album Empathy.

Career[]

2012: Debut with EXO[]

He debuted as a member of EXO and its sub-unit EXO-K on April 9, 2012 with the group's first mini album Mama.

2014: Acting debut[]

D.O made his acting debut in 2014 through the SBS drama It's Okay, That's Love.

2021: Solo debut with Empathy[]

On June 25, SM Entertainment confirmed that D.O would make his solo debut in late July. On July 1, SM Entertainment dropped a teaser for his first mini album, Empathy, set to release on July 26.

2023: "I Do", Expectation, departure from SM Entertainment, new agency[]

On September 2, 2022, D.O announced that he is recording his next album, which will be released after the completion of his drama by early 2023. On August 3, 2023, D.O stated in an interview that he completed recording, music video, and jacket shooting for his upcoming album back in May.

On September 1, 2023, SM Entertainment dropped a teaser for his second mini album, Expectation, set to release on September 18. "I Do" was pre-released on September 8.

Kyungsoo was born on January 12, 1993 in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea to a couple whose names are undisclosed. He has an older brother, Do Seungsoo.

Known for his singing skill, Kyungsoo began singing during primary school. Throughout his high school career, he was an avid participant in local singing competitions. In 2010, he was recommended to audition for S.M. Entertainment after winning at a local singing festival. Subsequently, he became an S.M. Entertainment trainee during his last two years of high school after performing Na Yoonkwon's "Anticipation" and Browneyed Soul's "My Story" at his audition.

Kyungsoo was formally introduced as the eighth member of EXO on January 30, 2012. His stage name is derived from his family name, Do. He sees Yoo Youngjin, S.M.'s music producer, as his role model.
